We built a system that works with the Mikro accounting software used by Göldağı Kablo. The system connects through an API to the Mikro data on the company's local server and pulls invoice information; it automates matching and tracking those invoices against the cheques discounted with factoring companies.
Starting point
Göldağı Kablo discounted the invoices it issued with its factoring companies and created cheques. But an invoice was usually converted into cheques in parts rather than for its full amount — for example, 70,000 TL of a 100,000 TL invoice became a cheque, and the remaining 30,000 TL stayed open to be used in a different transaction. Because this split structure was tracked by hand, it became unclear how much of each invoice had been converted and how much was still open, leading to lost time and a risk of errors.
The solution we built
We wrote an API on the server where the Mikro accounting software runs and pulled the invoice data automatically. On top of that data we built a tracking system that automatically calculates which invoice is matched with which cheques (even partially) and shows the open amount in real time. How much of an invoice has been converted into cheques and how much is a pending balance can now be seen on a single screen, with no manual calculation.
